gaze running through pineknots– loud forest legs falling 
into and out of old rosemary groves snared 
fear-drunk in curtains on sombre stormbeds with
 hazelnut twigs tangled up in her hair while brown sugar lights
fell to pray in her eyes.

catching melancholic corners to be part of her kingdom 
mapping hearts in the dust for raxeria to die in.

the swan-throated boy bleating with dayfire 
burning threads of a gown familiar with sex 
and stolen from mothers still rearing sad daughters to be happy 
but breeding nostomaniac girls 
fucking like animal angels of wine stains 
damned and disgraced, sentenced to skin veins 
full of sea monsters and familiar faces.
