Literature Text

And he played in the dark

To solace his ache

While down in the kitchen they left hurt in their wake

Going to war like dogs in a cage

It was impossible to drown out their bark.

Bow grinded hard against feline entrails

He canines were bared in a crucified grin

And the hunters below would soon pad up the stairs to earn themselves a new skin

And the howl of his strings damned the full moon

But anger is what pain entails.

Darling don't sit-and-stay while your world rips apart

Love a little louder

And deafen your heart

Play boy, play

Through the rage and decay

Your snarling fiddle will scare them away

Pray boy, pray

With a lupin's bay

Or you hide will be hung and your lungs aflay

Scream boy, scream

To pierce this dream

To keep things as they are, and seem

Darling don't sit-and-stay while your world rips apart

Love a little louder

And deafen your heart

If I'd found this in 2013-14 it would've been my favourite poem, hands down. I was going through stuff which I think you've mirrored quite effectively here, idek
I still love this, though. 3 years too late to the party, but well. Better late than never.
